 SkillScape: The term “Skill” is derived from the old Norse word, ‘skil’ or ‘skilja’ that means ‘distinction’. All of us tend to have a few qualities that distinguishes us from everybody else. But to make or earn a clear-cut distinction, it takes, consistency & discipline. Pick up a hobby that wets your appetite.  We often have the need to recalibrate our habits and break the infamous cycles we develop in our comfort zones when there is a need to learn something new. Today, we usually have multiple tasks and skills on our to-do or wish-lists that we wish to explore or learn. The significance of learning something which stands out of the requirement lists of our professional lives, or only to make money is often overlooked. But yes, ‘It’s food for the soul’. Skill Scape was a Career Development Initiative, that offered all the interested individuals a chance to cross things out from their wish-list. A chance to try out every possible hobby that once resided in the back of our minds was given and was utilized to its fullest. It was a three-day long initiative which included, ‘Best out of waste’, ‘T-shirt Painting’, & ‘Crochet Workshop’, providing a diverse experience and exploration opportunities to every individual who participated. It was a great prospect for everybody who was a part of it to find out what are the kind of leisurely activities which can prove to truly nourish our spirits. Experimenting with the white t-shirts to portray and simply ‘Wear our ideas’, pulling the strings of our intellect to decide what could the Best out of our Waste? And lastly understanding the simple yet complicated twisting of wool through a hook and noticing how it can create something so small as a flower to something so big like an outfit, it was indeed a great chance to explore, experiment & embrace the process of redoing it no matter how many times we’ve mistaken. The aim was to re-flame the same old curiosity we held in our minds as kids, with numerous questions and encouragement of growth into it. What essential will you be adding into your wish-list next?
