‘Environment Conservation’, ‘Sustainable development’, ‘Go Green Go’, etc, sounds familiar? Yes, the narrations and promises we often used in the very beginning of toxic urbanisation, but today the intensity of deforestation has increased so rapidly, that it stands as just one of the basic steps of constructing a skyscraper and not a serious issue that needs careful reconsideration. Urbanisation has its fair share of importance in the aspect of development, but it should be well-planned, development may be the motive, but it won’t happen only through the construction of gigantic buildings and malls. As the individuals residing in a particular country the duty ultimately rests on our shoulders on how mindful we are with the resources provided to us. Tree Plantation might seem like a very commonly used term by the social organisations, but yes, it is necessary and the sooner people understand the importance of planned and sustainable urbanisation, the better it will be for everyone. Vrukshvel was a Partners-In-Service Initiative, executed by our partner, Rotary Club of Kalyan, along with our team to break the taboo of how ‘common’ it is, because the common it is, the better. Let’s be responsible and perform the common that’s not harmful and stop normalising the actions which shouldn’t be normal.
