‘Heal the world, Make it a better place,
For you, and for me, and the entire human race..”
This famous song written by Michael Jackson in 1991 is still very relatable even after two decades. What could be better than doing something to help the society you live in? To be able do something as great as saving a life!
To make this happen, Rotaract Club of B. K. Birla College along with the Rotary Club of Kalyan conducted a Blood Donation Camp under the District Initiative. This project was named Drop of Hope and was conducted on the 2nd July, 2023.
The project started at 9 AM as the team set up necessities like the screening desk and the registration desk. Special arrangements were made to ensure the sanitation of the place. The blood bank members, along with the doctors were briefed by the President and the Chairpersons of the Club.
The team worked in great coordination as it was divided into groups for security, registration and PR. The project started with great energy and got a great response from the donors. The DRR, Rtr. Rtn. Sushmita Valecha Bhatia, the Zonal Directors, Zonal Chair, District Core Team along with the Buddy Council Member paid a visit to the venue and encouraged the team. The Rotary President of Kalyan, Rtn. Ram Marathe also visited the venue.
The success of the event was highlighted by the appreciation through articles in newspapers like Thane Varta and Maharashtra Janamudra the following day.
This event resulted in the collection of 69 units of blood and will save help so many lives. Rotaract Club of B. K. Birla College is a club working for the community and this project was a big achievement for the same cause.
